As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, Rawbank, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, inaugurated the borehole for the EP 1 and 4 MOMBELE school in the commune of Limete. This Thursday, June 23, 2022, the event was attended by the school’s management and students, Rotary Club members, and a Rawbank delegation led by its Deputy Director General, Christian Kamanzi.

From the outset, Rawbank gathered further insights into the concerns of these young people who wish to study in good conditions through a visit to the classrooms.

At the end of the visit, it was time to remove the symbolic curtains marking the inauguration of this borehole. This project will undoubtedly alleviate the water shortage facing this school, which is divided into two branches: EP 1 and 4, with a total of more than 3,200 children. It’s also a solution for the neighborhood’s residents.

For the school’s administrators, this donation represents a lifesaving asset, a sigh of relief for all the neighborhood’s residents, and even more so for the children who have been without access to drinking water for many months.

This protects them from waterborne diseases and facilitates handwashing, which is one of the preventive measures against COVID-19.

Present at the inauguration, Montfort Missionary Father Frédéric Bolumpo acknowledged the paternalistic approach of these benefactors, who are concerned with development and the promotion of human capital.

Built in 1966 by Father Paul, parish priest of Saint Felix, this school was bequeathed to the Brothers of Saint Gabriel around 2006 and 2007 to complete the construction work, under the paternal watchful eye of Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo.

This second breath of life, made tangible through this borehole, is the result of the collaboration between GBC and Rawbank, whose footprints are evident throughout the capital, particularly in the Camp Luka neighborhood in the commune of Kintambo and the Badara neighborhood in the commune of N’sele.

The atmosphere was lively and the recipients were moved with joy.
